The Mouth of the Rat?

Last Tuesday night at 8pm I arrived in Boca Raton (I've spent a long time wondering why it's named that...) Last Thursday morning at 6am I left. But let me tell you that Wednesday in between was excellent. Sitting poolside in the sunshine (getting tons of work done... Anthony and I were the only ones at the pool who brought our laptops), wearing a sundress, flipflops kicked to the side. Just for a moment, it felt like a vacation.

However, we were of course there for work, so while it was all fun, it definitely wasn't all vacation.

Boca is an interesting place. The people who live there seem to love it there. There is in fact a majority older crowd, but it's apparently a hot place for younger professionals to be heading. And why not? Nice beaches, beautiful scenery (check out the photos below), good food, lots of sunshine, some big industry and good jobs, every restaurant chain and department store you can imagine... plus lots of tourists/visitors and easy trips to Miami, the Carribbean, and anywhere from JetBlue in Fort Lauderdale... while it's not a place for me, I see it's appeal. And hopefully i'll be back again soon.
